The good news about this is that we have evolved to the point that we, while being big carnivores/omnivores no longer have to chase down and hunt food. Our large brains now make us less of a threat for extinction. This study does appear to have flaws though. The big cats have been around in some form or fashion for a very very long time, and they are the biggest land carnivores around right now. Crocs and sharks are also large carnivores but they have been around even longer, how are these accounted for?
