Recipe Ingredients Recipe detials:

1 c Butter

1 c Brown sugar

1 Egg

1 cn Applesauce; 8 1/2 oz

1 tb Molasses

2 c All-purpose flour

1/2 ts Salt

1/2 ts Baking powder

1/2 ts Ground allspice

1/4 ts Ground cloves

1 c Whole bran cereal

1 c Raisins

Caramel frosting: 1/2 c Brown sugar, packed

1/4 c Butter or margarine; melted

3 1/2 tb Milk

1 1/2 c Confectioner's sugar; sifted

Recipe by: Jo Merrill Cream butter and brown sugar well. Blend in egg, applesauce and molasses. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder and spices and stir into batter. Fold in cereal and raisins. Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Cool and frost with caramel frosting. Makes about 5 dozen cookies. Frosing: Add brown sugar to butter; boil and stir for 1 minute. Cool slightly. Beat in milk. Add confectioner's sugar and beat until smooth. Jo Merrill
