The Age Of Rudeness Culture

Age of expression gives rise to rudeness

There's been a rude awakening. [..] Boorish behavior is hardly new. Recent history has seen a steady parade of trash-talking athletes, uncouth rock stars and big-mouthed politicians. But experts say it's getting worse. A potent mix of cultural shifts is reshaping our sense of decorum. The Internet, cable talk shows, reality TV and even the recession have reduced our collective inhibitions, ripping at the very fabric of civil discourse, said Frank Farley, a psychology professor at Temple University who studies trends in human behavior. I think people in the media are trying more and more to be shocking. They say or do things that may be extremely rude because they want some kind of attention. This wasn't as accepted in the past but is now acceptable and entertainment to everyone. No matter how old you are, there is always some sort of pressure and influence on your life. I think it's best to be good to people and to be nice though I do slip sometimes.

I think it's like all about money. They get paid more if they're more rude because no one else is willing to do it. They want everyone talking about them. It's like a bad example really because people that like worship these celebs want to do the same thing.

I agree with you guys and I want to add "they can so they do it". We live in an age where if you keep back anyone from saying what they want to say then they cry out discrimination. This has caused so much political correctness.
