Comments: I know that it is possible somehow, but whenever I try to attack an enemy colony I never kill any of their soldiers, and they don't kill mine. In the end I don't gain or lose anything except turns and manna.

Then you are doing something wrong.

1. You need soldiers, you should have more than your enemy
2. You need to equip soldiers, choose the best weapons
3. You need to choose frontal or direct attack
4. When you attack and kill all your enemy's soldiers then switch to attacking the peasants. With no soldiers to protect the peasants your enemy will be open prey.

Comments: I was playing away at rule of kings and had something like 31 soldiers and refreshed the page and suddenly only hads four and my worth had reduced by almost 100'000gp. I joined this game to defeat my son! He convinced me to buy his weapons for 7500 gold to give him money he need because he was broke. Well not that he is weaponless and has all my money I tried attacking him(cold am I not?) and it said players from same ip can not attack. Is it because I am using his laptop or his wifi connection?

That is correct, it a very basic measure to prevent players from trying to use the system to basically fight themselves thus building up their armies forcefully. Perhaps it is not such a good idea to attack your son.
