I think you are still within the Tutorial. Once you did not click "Quit Tutorial" Then it is still waiting for you to do the action. Click "Services" On the left menu to see if that helps.

Looks like is a different website and doesn't accept my Username and Password: do I have to register or is there some direct link that will allow me to play using my International Discussions profile?

For security reasons I usually do not merge accounts across websites / domains, therefore you will need to create a new account there. By the way, all the Text MMORPGs here, once up and running have different domains, but they all use this Community in common for Support, comments, reports, etc.
