300
I have not seen this film yet, only the preview, BUT I must admit that it looks like a real seller! The film is about Frank Miller's graphic novel about the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. where 300 men fought off a great invading army.
Keywords: Three Hundred, Spartan, 300Spartan
This opens locally on Wednesday, but I always wait til it is a double feature before I go to see any popular movie, and I have already told my wife to schedule me in for this one!

REVIEW: '300' FAR FROM PERFECT The fanboys are raring for this one. As of Wednesday, two days before "300" opened, the Internet Movie Database gave director Zack Snyder's historical epic a user rating of 8.6 out of 10, based on more than 7,000 votes. The breakdown reveals that 6,000 of the voters are males under the age of 29, and that more than 80 percent rated the film a perfect 10. (The figures weren't much changed as of Friday.) OH...I will definitely be seeing it now! If this upsets the ruler of Iran, I am all for it.

I really did hear that it is a fantastic movie from a few that have seen it in the states. Definitely a must see for history buffs that like a action movie.
I do not know but a must see this is on my list. I will wait for video as my 9 year old will want to see it also. I remember in history class my teacher focused on this battle. Impressive it was.
As far as the actors yup the are buff and I really doubt they looked like that back in the days of spartan. Strong and mean yes but with no body fat they would never have enough energy reserve for a real fight! No they would not have looked like fryer tuck either!

The true test of this movie is if the storyline and acting equals the amount of digitization used in the film |
I felt the same way about Star Wars, so this might be a long the same lines. I believe the hype initially (from News earlier in the Thread) shows that this movie appeals the most to the younger folk, especially teen boys. It opens tomorrow, but I have to see if it is doubled with something - I cannot go to see just one movie .
