TEENS ARRESTED AFTER MOM'S BODY FOUND IN TRUNK
For nearly a month after she was stabbed to death, Linda Damms body lay in the trunk of her car inside her garage while her 15-year-old daughter and friends used her debit card to "do teenage stuff," police say.

I remember a very similar story some years ago, same situation and it was girl too. What a tragedy. You cannot help but to think if this murder could have been avoided if the mother would have resolved some personal issues and help her daughter. Very sad indeed.

This is really disgusting, no matter what the relationship between mother and daughter was, it doesn't call for the mother to be treated like this.
At the end of the day, the daughter was 15, and old enough to remove herself out of the situation and go and live with a relative elsewhere.
I don't think because of her actions after the death she will get light treatment, if she had sought help from the police immediately after the murder, even if she claimed 'temporary insanity', I think the whole situation would be looking different for her.
Her actions speak louder than words, and to leave her mothers body in the car trunk for weeks whilst you go on a spending spree on your mother's credit cards doesn't exactly 'speak remorse' or sorrow to me

I agree that you're might not have a stable upbringing in these circumstances, and that anybody pushed to the extreme limits of abuse/sexual abuse may be pushed beyond their control to commit murder,(which hasn't been proved yet, just suggested as a possibility) and I would never have the right to say that it couldn't happen,as until you've gone through what they've gone through, it's not my right or anybody elses to say they should never have done that.As the saying goes.."unless you've walked a mile in another mans shoes"
The few factors that mainly gall me in this case is that the girl is older, it was premeditated and not spur of the moment, which leads me to believe that she had a chance of acting in a different way, and also the way that they behaved after the murder, making sure they had a 'fun time'.
It's just horrible all round, especially for the family members who are left standing in the middle of this situation.

While it wasn't the girl who actually committed the murder, she certainly didn't do anything after the fact to show remorse for what happened. The article points out that the girl says she didn't think the boyfriend was "serious" about "taking care of" her problem mother. I'm sure that will be her defense - "gosh, I didn't think he'd *really* do it!" What is our world coming to?
