Boosting Signal With Charger

I was reading on another site that if you keep your mobile plugged into the car's charger then your signal is much stronger than if you use it without it. Some people who were skeptical says it really does work. Some theories include: that the phone has more power to capture calls and others thought that the charger acted like an amp. Anyone verified this?
