Oh well, nobody will represent Trinidad and Tobago in the Miss Universe competition:
QUOTE |
There will not be a representative from Trinidad and Tobago at this year's Miss Universe competition due to financial woes, although this country has had an excellent track record in the international competition, and even hosted the pageant here in 1999. National Pageant Director, Peter Elias, yesterday explained, "Not only is this project a full time commitment by our team, but also requires financial support in order to adequately prepare delegates and maintain our level of success." |
That's very disappointing news! Our ladies are intelligent, well poise and very beautiful. But quite frankly, ever since Kim Sabeeny died, the standard has fallen. The girls are beautiful but not well spoken or very difficult to manage. Ah yes! Trinidad and Tobago suffered a great loss when Kim Sabeeny died! Even in dire situations, Kim Sabeeny always managed to "find funds" or sponsors for the beauty contestants.
