Suffocation Accidental

It's a terrible thing, in a family already suffering from multiple tragedies with their children and other family members. Very sad.

Accidental Suffocation Reviews Consumer & Travel Family Culture

This family truly has suffered far too much at deaths hand. My heart breaks on this as it was completely preventable.

Sorry JB I need to share this, and it is related to the topic.

My father is extremely safety oriented in all aspects of his life, this not by accident.

Rather off topic, but...
He seen many around him amputated and many children die through carelessness and hardheartedness. He himself lost two brothers. The first was because he himself was too small to carry water from the well and his father was out in the barn working. His mother put on the yoke and two pails and waded through the snow on a path that had been well walked but this was in March and the snows were melting. My grand mother was 8 months pregnant and on the return trip she broke through the hard pass and sunk to her chest. My Uncle Fred age 5 and my dad age 4 ran to her screaming for help. They managed to get her up but she lost the Baby. All because my grand father was too lazy to keep the path well shoveled.

The second brother he last was 6 months old and died very similar to the child in this news story. My grand mother was breast feeding the baby and she fell asleep and her breast suffocated the child. My grandmother never forgave herself and none of the children ever forgot that tragedy.

My Grandfather was a blacksmith and worked a 500 acre sheep/beef farm and as such my dad witnessed people getting hurt because they would not take to time to look at what their were doing and change things so as to prevent an injury.

When my wife had our first born my dad made her swear she would get up out of bed to feed the baby. I was given a no nonsense statement (I had . never hear this tone in his voice before in my life) that I was responsible to ensure she did and to ensure she got enough sleep so she would not be tempted to do so in my absence. My wife kinda shrugged it off till I explained to her what happened in dads family. I had our child in our room in a crib for a few weeks as my wife was comforted by hearing the baby breathing but never did either of our children get in our bed till they we able to crawl.

As a plea from one father to another I do ask husbands out there take heed to the news article. God gave us these beautiful creatures as our wifes, so we must tend to them so they in turn can tend to our children the way god intended.
