Alarming News About Ugly Kids
It's hard to think parents could treat an ugly child like this, but they do. Researchers from the University of Alberta in Canada have shown that parents are more likely to give better care and pay closer attention to good-looking children compared to unattractive ones.

This is just insane. Who determines ugliness? Who is this researcher and how exactly did they deem the test subjects ugly or nice looking? I would also find it hard to believe that a parent would treat one differently than another. I do believe some children mature differently, and maybe one could be paid less attention to (for example if they wandered off in a supermarket) if they were old enough to do so.

Why are parents ignoring their unattractive children? In what is sure to be a controversial idea, Harrell blames it on a parent's instinctive Darwinian response. |
What happened to the old saying 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder', meaning that what one person views as beautiful doesn't always mean that everyone else views them in the same light.
I find it hard to comprehend how any parent could perceive their own child as being ugly, even less how they can treat their own children differently judged alone on how they look. This is terribly sad, and if parents continue to treat their children like this, it can only cause irreversible damage to both the child and any future relationship between child and parent!
