Smug Being

QUOTE

smug  /smʌg/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[smuhg] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
-adjective, smug‧ger, smug‧gest.
1. contentedly confident of one's ability, superiority, or correctness; complacent.
2. trim; spruce; smooth; sleek.

Is there anything wrong with being smug? No. But you may want to reconsider your attitude if we are talking about being in a group or with someone other than one of your friends. People in general don't like "smug people". Its annoying having someone essentially flaunt your "rightness" in their face.

Being Smug Reviews Consumer & Travel Family Culture

Personally I have been smug many times and I have also been told it was wrong. Being smug is a way of saying "oh yeah" I was right and if you didn't know it then now you do. It is arragant and that is not a valued characteristic in people.

It is not wrong to be smug but you will get a lot more friends by being modest.

Smug Being

If smug is synonym of self-confidence I do not see anything wrong with it, now if it is used to show others how "bad" they are and how "good" you are then is wrong because it shows how prideful you really are.
