Do you like to have various kinds of ring tones on your mobile? If so, what kinds of tones do you use and how do you go about getting them?
Excellent topic. I only have the preinstalled ring tones that came with my phone. Currently my ringtone is the '1812 Overture'. Since I don't have the ability to download ringtones with my phone service, I am limited to these preinstalled ones, which isn't all that bad.
I have purchased one ringtone for my phone - "Smoke on the Water."
It is distinctive enough that I notice it quite easily.
For some reason, I don't notice my phone ringing when I use any of the preinstalled tones.
When my phone rings, it plays "Jump," by Van Halen. This didn't come with my phone. Someone downloaded an MP3 and then converted it for me and loaded it on my phone. I don't know how to do this myself.
I know someone who assigns a different ring tone to everyone in his phone address book. He can tell who is calling by the tone that plays when they call. I don't think my phone has that ability.
I think different ring tones that are downloaded are fun and unique, but when it comes down to it I usually feel like it's a waste of money because there are so many pre-installed. I downloaded Sarajevo for Christmas and it's May and still being used. I just never get around to changing it.

My mobile phone is about 7-8 year old, so it´s difficult to find good tones for it. I got, using SMS, a distinctive theme song of an anime serie (Naruto) and I am quite happy with it. It´s different to all and quiet noticeable. Why would I want more?
Well, in July-August I usually use the preinstalled "Merry Christmas", but that´s a special case
The IT guy at work has the theme from "Mission Impossible" assigned to his boss's calls. It's funny. My phone has only the preinstalled tones. I actually switched from the regular phone ringing (and ringing and ringing) to just a single tone. If I'm near the phone and can answer it, I will; if not, I'll get the voice mail later, and no one has to be annoyed by the phone ringing (and ringing and ringing).
