Well, after apologizing he now wrote a song called "Sorry" apologizing? about the incident. I do not see it as an apology but the Media sees it as such.

The song leaked Wednesday begins with Akon apologizing to those closest to him. "I'm sorry for the wrong things that I've done, I'm sorry that I'm not always there for my sons," he sings to his wife. "I'm sorry that your son was a thief," the ex-con sings to his mother. But, when he gets to the subject of the Trinidad incident, he seems to want to share the blame. "How was I to know she was underage," he sings, "in a 21-and-older club they say? Why doesn't anyone want to take the blame? Verizon backed out and disgraced my name." He ends the song by reaching out to the fans who continue to support him. "I'm just a singer trying to entertain," he sings to his audience. "Because I love my fans I'll take the blame." |
When I read the Express today I was literally shocked at what I read. Choc'late Allen (yes the little girl who has an organization to fight against crime) and her organizations are going to give an Award to Danah Alleyne (and others)...yes..the same girl who was caught dirty dancing with Akon. The Award is called "The Youth Motivator Award". The Awards are giving to those who are "being a source of inspiration and motivation to the nation".
Listen to me, or this little girl (Allen) is high or she is just trying to give away something to someone whose relatives may be supporting financially her organization (PNM). It's non-sense!

FAMILY members of 15-year-old teenager Danah Alleyne are once again up in arms, after she was conferred with what they now see as a controversial award by Choc'late Allen, leader of the 100% Crime Free Youth Committee. Allen yesterday told the Express that her committee had decided to name Alleyne as one of the recipients of a "Youth Motivator Award". Alleyne, cricketer Adrian Barath and academic achiever Veera Bhajan were among six youths due to receive awards and a financial contribution for "being a source of inspiration and motivation to the nation", Allen told the Express yesterday. The award ceremony is to be held at the Valpark Chinese Restaurant in Valsayn on July 17, Alleyne added. Alleyne caught public attention after engaging in a lewd dancing act with R&B/Hip Hop singer Akon at the Zen nightclub in April. The incident sparked national outrage and prompted even Prime Minister Patrick Manning to comment on the issue. Asked why the committee had decided to select the Central resident, Allen said it was because "she was the most courageous person for the first half of 2007". However, the decision sparked an angry response from Alleyne's brother, Ian. "Why should Danah receive an award? What she did was an embarrassment to her family, to the church," he said when contacted by the Express yesterday. "In fact, Danah doesn't want an award. We are trying to move on and she is concentrating on her academic studies. Choc'late should give awards to the top ten achievers in the SEA exam." One child psychiatrist said no matter what the reason may be for giving an award to Alleyne, Choc'late's committee should have waited a little longer, since the incident is still fresh in everyone's mind... |

The mere fact that Pastor Alleyne has decided that his daughter will indeed accept the award along with the cash, speaks volumes about his parenting skills. And then people wonder and condemn Danah for the way she is. Obviously, she has no one to provide guidelines, teach her the difference between right or wrong, or to learn from her mistakes. Pastor Alleyne is allowing his avarice to impair his judgement! I wonder if he thinks that she is receiving a prize for winning a dance competition?
This award is going to set a very bad precedence for all the young people of Trinidad and Tobago. It is an acknowledgement of when we do not respect ourselves and behave in a manner that is questionable, we will be admired and rewarded for it! Poor Danah! She has no one to teach her good old fashion morals and values!

Well..well...well Guess who gave 100% support for this award to Danah? The IRO! Now if the Inter-religious organization who is SUPPOSED to know a little about morals is okay with this award, what can we expect of the rest? This country is going down the drain, yes.

The Inter-Religious Organisation has given its full support to the "100% Crime Free" Committee's decision to award Danah Alleyne for being an exemplar to the nation's youth. The committee, led by Choc'late Allen, got the full blessing of the IRO on Thursday, following a meeting of the two bodies on Thursday at City Hall, Port of Spain. The decision to give Alleyne a "Youth Motivator" award drew public criticism when it was announced last week, especially from people who felt it was sending the wrong message to the nation's youths. Alleyne came into the public light in April, when she engaged in a lewd dancing act with R&B star Akon during a concert at the Zen nightclub in Port of Spain. |
