ANTIDEPRESSANTS' BENEFITS TRUMP RISKS FOR KIDS
Authors of a new comprehensive analysis of antidepressants for children and teenagers say the benefits of treatment trump the small risk of increasing some patients' chances of having suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

This must be a very hard decision for parents. There are kids who are really mentally ill who have suicidal thoughts or that they tried to commit suicide before and I think if medications work then they should take it, it would be unwise to leave a child to deal with those type of thoughts. By the other hand, I read that a lot of these antidepressants make the symptoms even worst.
