I can't believe after discussing the matter some teachers would continue with the process of giving out food. If they are allergic it can be life and death.

You may have to do what I did... my special son was not getting his needs met in Primary so I asked for a release from my previous calling so that I could actually sit in Primary with him. This way I control everything that he is offered, taught or subjected to be it positive or negative. |

I think most primary teachers and the primary presidency give out snacks because kids tend not to be fed properly. |
It has gotten so bad that we actually have a time dedicated to eating snacks EACH Sunday. If you think hat is surprising it is not just the 4-7 year olds, no it is the 8 to 11 as well! Hey, I am just there for my son, don't ask me why.
That sounds like nursery more than primary maybe somone needs to show them how to run primary.

I forgot to mention, that in our Branch Primary the Teachers do not give out snacks, the children bring lunch kits! Yep, they actually bring food planning for snack time, just like in school. To be honest, given the situation here I tried to fight it, but had to give in because poor Felipe would just sit there watching the kids munching away and it was kind of sad.

Candy, cookies, cupcakes, and gum as solid nutrition? |

Primary teachers give out snacks as BRIBES to keep the kids quiet. Candy, cookies, cupcakes, and gum as solid nutrition? I don't think so. If a primary teacher or president thinks some kid is malnourished, maybe they should take it up with leadership to get the family some help. I've never seen *anything* healthy given out by any primary teacher, ever. So that explanation doesn't wash with me. If it's happening in your area, that's unusual in my opinion. |
