28 NEW PLANETS DISCOVERED IN PAST YEAR, ASTRONOMERS SAY
Astronomers have discovered 28 new planets outside our solar system in the past year and say the results are just the tip of the iceberg as planet-hunting technology becomes more advanced.

New planets are always intriguing but is it really worth all the monies we spend looking? The only reason I would say yes is that one day we will have to evacuate earth due to the impending explosion of our existing sun as it goes supernova. It would be nice to find a new home.
