If you went out with your significant other window shopping and while passing by a certain luxury shop your special love saw something he/she wants to get, but it seems rather pricey - will you get and in front of your special someone ask for a discount from the cashier / sales person?

Personally, I wouldn't, but my husband wouldn't have any qualms in asking!
His motto is 'you don't ask-you don't get'

It normally works for him too. It's actually amazing how many shops/businesses will lower their price if you ask for it!

DianeC, your husband is similar to me in this aspect. I generally always ask for a discount! With LDS_forever's expensive tastes I have made it my signature line "Discount please..." - yeah - call me cheap - I do not care - I pay less than you!

When I saw JB answered this thread, I said to myself "Oh boy" and I was right. Let me clarify people that JB asks for a discount in an already discounted product...yep..is THAT bad. *laughs*

I won't ask for a discount if I am alone, if I am with JB..well..I do not have much choice.

I never hesitate to ask for a discount. I may be with my spouse or alone and I will still ask for a discount. Some merchants laugh (since I look very young for my age) and others grudgingly give in to my request.
