Organic Baby Gear
WASHINGTON - There's a six-week wait for a $15 stainless steel sippy cup made without harmful compounds. At the annual toy show in New York last month, retailers lined up to put in orders for a children's tea set made of recycled plastic milk jugs. And some big box chains are eager to start selling a $300 organic crib mattress that was tested in a special chamber to ensure it doesn't emit any dangerous gases.

Ridiculous! I actually find that most baby stuff has a short turnover rate save for cribs and some clothes. One has to worry about spending money on important stuff like medical bills, diapers and food rather than worrying over high priced 'organic' stuff.
This sounds like people who have too much money and do not know what to do with it are now having a place to put that money. Most parents who have more than one child know that you need not worry about most of this because they are not going to be using it at all soon.
Welcome to yuppie ville JB. I know in my city there would be a good market for these items. Foolish spending to you or I but when your income is in the 8 plus digits it becomes different. After all does they baby not deserve the best?
For me and mine I will carve a wood bowl set and never look back. My children used almost all hand me downs some from my childhood my moms a pack rat.
I ask this, if you made 60 mill last year would you flinch at buying these items? Or even say 200, 000 ... Some items might not seem so extravagant then. Especially when you are 40 house paid for and know this is your first and last child. This is a very real trend in Southern Ontario and many parts of Canada.
