Do Alcoholics Really Care Which Brand?
When an Alcoholic wants a drink or should I say - is thirsting for a drink - do they care which brand of alcohol / rum or what have you is obtained? I mean, are they going to go hunting for a brand if it isn't available at their current location? I have known alcoholics to open up a bottle of rubbing alcohol just to get 'satisfied'.
Both of my friends parents died from alcohol related problems following decades of abuse and it is fair to say that they might be loyal to a particular brand (that doesnt mean that it is a particularly good brand) when they buy the booze, but in general they really didn't care as long as the desired effect was achieved.
My father will drink anything he can get his hands on- spending all of his money at the pub then on cans and bottles for his sad lonely 1 bedroom flat.
My mother drinks wine or cider, the cheaper and bigger the better, she is fond of Lambrini being only 2.49 for 2.5 ltrs, so it really depends on the person, but saying that if my mother could not get her hands on wine or cider I'm sure a larger would go down a treat.
