Demand Service Of Ghosts - Page 2
QUOTE |
Is it possible to secure / demand or pay a ghost to do your bidding? |
"Ghosts" most usually refer to spirits of the dead. IF you can get their attention and IF you can somehow gain control of their motives you MAY be able to get a ghost to lead you somewhere but as for MAKING them do anything for you ... no.
This is a very complicated subject. Historically, in magical and metaphysical circles there is a history of having tried to control non-material entities. These entities are variously described as angels, demons, sprites, etc. Controlling a ghost, the residual energy of a once living human being, is nearly impossible. Contact with ghosts is most commonly for the purpose of helping them ascend.
Ghosts, or discorporeal humans, are beings "stuck" in the moment of their death or attached too strongly to something material. That attachment can be based in the emotion of greed, love, longing, or the sense of "unfinished business". The little girl who "hitches" a ride from some lonely outpost to her home and when the driver turns around to tell her they've arrived his/her car is empty falls in the category of unfinished business. The child so desperately wants to go home, and can't because she was killed at the spot where she is usually picked up, that she is "stuck" in that last desire. These unfortunates have to have their attention gained by someone who can move them out of that moment in time and tell them to go to God.
Another kind of haunting is called "residual impression" this is the kind that sometimes gets photographed by average people. A very popular "ghost picture" is of an Abby in England where occasionally the brothers are photographed walking down the center aisle for vespers ... their bodies sunk into the floor from the knees down. This is a "residual impression" because the floor of the Abby was raised 8 inches sometime later and the "image" is "walking" on the original floor. Such types of hauntings usually end when the original material of the building is removed and replaced with something newer that does not hold the emotional energy of the "ghost".
"Restless Spirits" are usually of other than the discorporeal human type or they are humans who died violently or with a strong desire to remain where they lived. These beings are impossible to reason with or cajole and can only be "banished" to remove their influence. This should never be undertaken by any but a very strong faith and professional training.
A"wraith" may not even be a full entity. A wraith can be the residual effect of very strong negative emotions. Most closed prisons, as an example, are haunted by wraiths, the residual negative emotions of the former inmates. Often closed mental hospitals have the same problem. Occasionally an investigator will come across a "ghost" that is vengeful, categorizing it as a wraith, but if it is a full entity, then its desire for revenge can be quelled and the spirit can ascend.
Most of the history of metaphysics and mysticism which detail the attempt to harness a spirit end badly for the mage or priest doing the summoning. It's not a good idea to place human egoistic values on spirits, they do not exist in our realm of reality and do not have the same motivations as humans.
