I'm free to defend his statements just like you are free to attack them. I don't go around complaining why you keep attacking his statements without giving me a clear answer.

I have answered that question already, whether is the kind of answer you were looking for, then is a different story |

but the Holocaust happened during a world war. IMO, this is why you see such a global reaction to the event. It effected the majority of the world and was one reason we went to war. |

I don't see the questioning of the validity of the Holocaust as a pretext to this discussion as warranted or necessary. |

the Palestinians are suffering not from the Holocaust, but are suffering from 2 things: bad planning and execution of the Mandate of Palestine and bad leadership decisions. |

swabbling over the exact head count and methods feels so dirty, unwarranted and disrespectful to those that died and the ones that survived...all of them. |

I read several quotes and definitly he meant what he said: That Israel should be wiped off the map. |
Rather off topic, but... I don't like being called naiive.
is that not sarcasm? I don't mind people disagreeing. I love this debate. |
This guys breathes so much arrogance, did he has the need to say Stone is part of the "Great Satan"? Interesting enough, Stone has publicly being critical of Pres. Bush and his war against Iraq in the past. His response to Ahmedinejads is only fair. This shows to me the intolerance that the President of Iran demonstrates, in this case as illogical as it is, he puts ALL US citizens in the same bag, INCLUDING those who do not support Bush's policies. What an ignorant man.

TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has rejected a proposal by Oscar-winning movie director Oliver Stone to make a film about him because Stone is part of the "Great Satan" cultural establishment, a semiofficial news agency reported. "I sent a negative answer by Ahmadinejad to Oliver Stone," the Fars agency quoted Mehdi Kalhor, media adviser to the president, as saying Sunday. "It is right that this person is considered part of the opposition in the U.S., but opposition in the U.S. is a part of the Great Satan." The term the "Great Satan" dates back to Iran's late supreme leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who first called the United States that after the 1979 Islamic Revolution overthrew the country's U.S.-supported shah. Stone's publicist in New York said the director had not been formally notified that his proposal to make a documentary about Ahmadinejad had been turned down. But in a statement released Monday, Stone said he wished the Iranian people well. "I have been called a lot of things, but never a great satan," Stone said in the statement. "I wish the Iranian people well, and only hope their experience with an inept, rigid ideologue president goes better than ours." |

LDS_forever can you tell me who made the statement "but opposition in the U.S. is a part of the Great Satan." Ill give you a clue it wasn't Ahmadinejad. Therefore don't be so quick to judge.
But ill agree with you it was wrong to call him "Great Satan".
Didn't you read the many sources quoting him? The Media Adviser spoke, but he did it to state what Ashmedinejads said about it, but I doubt you will believe that. *shrugs* The "meat" of the matter still the same, the statement was wrong.

Sources quoting who? Ahmadinejad? No I dont think I read those. I read many quoting Mahdi Kalhor including the original report run in Baztab citing Fars news agency. https://en.baztab.com/content/?cid=3431
Ahmadinejad never called Stone "Great Satan" but Kalhor did. Can you prove to me Ahmadinejad himself said such a thing himself? No? *shrugs* but I think you have already judged this person. It doesn't hurt to keep an open mind.
Tsk tsk...
On a topic and a response that is surely to get play across the world, you don't think that Mr. Kalhor got permission from his President that he serves to say such a thing. But as we go through the dance of semantics yet again, it sure was FUN!

Did anyone check Ahmedinejad's blog? Yes, he has a blog (not updated regularly though, I assume for obvious time issues and Presidential schedules). I find some of his answers to people quite interesting. He is a very good writer but it is a bit annoying to see him write like his government are almost "holy" and the US one is so evil. I mean, please! Both have lots of accountability to do to Allah but that self-righteous attitude he has is annoying. Nevertheless, it is good that he allows people to post their answers freely, although some of them show direct opposition even rude comments towards him. Some of the replies he gets:

Id like to see Bush create his own blog. I dont think he has the mental capacity to write a paragraph let alone a blog.
Semantics? *Sigh* People get worked up over something his media advisor says and they say that I am too semantical?
