Breastfeeding While Driving

A woman was pulled over in the US for Breastfeeding While Driving. She gave her reasons, but the question is: Do you agree or disagree?

I disagree with this. She is putting her child at risk if she she is involved in a accident. Plus is she giving all of her attention to the roadway? How long is her attention off the road if the child becomes unattached due to bump in the road? I think pulling over and allowing the child to feed is the wisest thing to do.

I agree. She was also on the cellphone when the police pulled her over. What is worst... Despite the ticket she says if it is necessary - she will do it again!

Is she mental? For a minute I thought someone else was driving. This is so dangerous for the baby, not to mention that when you breastfeed you need to ensure the baby is in a proper position.

One thing that was mentioned by the police officer is that the air bag could be deployed and kill the baby instantly. The thing I hate most about this is watching the woman on camera talking like if she is so right and correct in doing it and at the same time saying she cares so much for the children. This world is turning so much towards making WRONG seem RIGHT.

She was on the cell phone too? She might as well have been drunk driving. I hope that someone stands up for this poor baby. Give it to a real mom.

She is wrong in so many ways.
Let's go through them as I think through the list...

1. Distracted driving - at the least... This has to be at least as distracting as talking on a cell phone, which some of you who have seen the full story say she was also doing!
2. Child not in a infant car seat - bad news even in a minor panic stop without hitting anything. Even if the kid isn't between her and the steering wheel the kid would be hurt
3. The kid IS between her and the wheel which pretty much guarantees the child would be crushed even without airbag deployment. If the airbag goes off it might even manage to throw the kid if they aren't trapped. Horrible either way!
4. Risk to other drivers - if you were driving down the road and passed her, how many people can honestly say they wouldn't be distracted, at the least by having to take a second look to confirm that someone would actually do such a thing.

How could it be 'necessary'? I know that young children need to eat... But will the baby starve in the time it takes for her to get to her destination? If so, how long does it take to breastfeed... would it be so terrible to delay her trip by those few minutes? This woman is nuts!
