Do you answer the phone in a particular way that would leave the caller on the other line confused? How about if you heard someone answer your call with heavy breathing and then in a dark voice saying, " I know, you , I am watching you, I have your number'?

Who the heck am I calling that would say such things?? no friend of mine, that's for sure!!
No, I do not answer my phone in any particularly odd way, just "hello" -- unless I'm at work, and then I follow that with "This is Roz, may I help you?"
I work in a technical support center so I have to followup my answer with my company name and location. Sometimes at home I catch myself answering the phone the same way. Other than that I answer with a simple hello, nothing more, nothing less. If someone I called who I did not know answered the phone in the way Persephone described, I'd be hanging up pretty quickly!
If someone answered with:

If I called someone and they responded/answered the way the first post suggested, I would just laugh and say something back in response that I considered funny. What exactly I would say, would be determined in large part by knowledge of the person to whom I am speaking. Remember, I made the call, so presumably, I know this person.
Like AGene, I use my caller ID to filter out calls. I never answer, Unknown, Unknown, I also never answer Private Name, Private Number, very rarely answer Private Name, with a number being displayed. Sometimes I answer the latter, because a lot of cell phones in my area display that way. For some reason the cell companies don't broadcast the name. However, even when I know the family calling based upon the caller ID, I am not positive who exactly from that family has called, so I just answer hello. I don't say Hello "person's name" However, once they tell me who they are, I usually acknowledge that I knew it was them because of my caller ID. Sometimes I will answer the phone with a different tone when I know who is calling - more friendly or casual, than if I do not know.

The military managed to instill in me a "correct" way of answering the phone. It is the same for me at home or at work. Either my last name's residence or store name, my first name speaking, how may I help you sir/mam?
ie: Jones' residence, Bob speaking. How may I help you sir?
As to the other question posed, I would tell the person laughingly to shut up. I'd called them for a reason.
