1 cup butter or margarine 1 cup white sugar 1 cup vegetable oil 1 cup powdered sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 teaspoon salt Cream butter and white sugar. Beat in oil and powdered sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Mix flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt toget her and stir into mix. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet. Flatte n cookies to 1/4-inch thick with glass bottom dipped in sugar. Bake in 350 degr ee oven 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned around edges.
