How do you like your Gyros? Consider:

1. The kind of meat or no meat at all
2. Sauces and condiments
3. Type of pita bread: wheat, plain, etc.
4. Extras

One word: Delicious! I love them. I tried beef and lamb and definitly rather the beef one I tried, it was melting in my mouth! The lamb one was great too but I am not a fan of lamb particularly. The best part of the gyro is the yogurt-like sauce (?) they put on it.

Lamb with tomato, lettuce, onions and the extra spicy yogurt sauce and extra garlic.

Al wrapped in a whole wheat pita (If I make the pita my self I throw in ground flax seeds and make the dough from bean flours as I like the nutty taste it adds to the mix)

As my sons says If I can wrap it I will eat it! biggrin.gif

Definitely with spicy chicken or lamb, with salad, loads of onions and mayonnaise.
Today, I had one for lunch, bought out, and that was chicken with salsa, it was very spicy, but there was some sort of yogurt and cheese added to it that mellowed it down a bit.
I love these, and could happily live on them. laugh.gif

Mmmmm gyros! When I was pregnant with my son, that is all I wanted to eat! I would make my husband get me one 5 times a week. He would have to drive 35 mins and all this just for a gyro. laugh.gif
Beef & lamb, with the taziki sauce, whole wheat bread, pickles, cucumber, feta cheese, purple onions, and a little bit of lettuce...YUM!
