It sounds like they've made it as an excuse, when really thee religious police more have a problem with the fact that she was there with a man other than her husband- although the reason for this appears to be because the power went down in her office and she was trying to complete work!
It does appear that some over zealousness has occurred in this occasion, in my opinion.
