This family truly has suffered far too much at deaths hand. My heart breaks on this as it was completely preventable.
Sorry JB I need to share this, and it is related to the topic.
My father is extremely safety oriented in all aspects of his life, this not by accident.
Rather off topic, but... He seen many around him amputated and many children die through carelessness and hardheartedness. He himself lost two brothers. The first was because he himself was too small to carry water from the well and his father was out in the barn working. His mother put on the yoke and two pails and waded through the snow on a path that had been well walked but this was in March and the snows were melting. My grand mother was 8 months pregnant and on the return trip she broke through the hard pass and sunk to her chest. My Uncle Fred age 5 and my dad age 4 ran to her screaming for help. They managed to get her up but she lost the Baby. All because my grand father was too lazy to keep the path well shoveled. |
