Chimney Height
Is there a specific maximum or minimum when it comes to Chimney Height?
The minimum standard is as follows.(as far as I know this is USA and Canada)
From the top of pipe to nearest part of roof if 10 ft or more then from the top of pipe to point where it comes through the roof is at least 2'.
If the top of pipe to nearest part of roof(measured horizontally) is under ten feet then at least 3' of chimney is above roof. I would recommend more though as it ensures no down draft on a cold blustery day. Also use a chimney cap keep rain out and chimney warm to prevent down drafting. (flue temperature very important to prevent down drafting.)
