Ill try and do what I can with the reports on other threads.
I'm not denying there is a problem. I can understand why people in the west are afraid. I see your from Trinidad and I have heard of the stupid foolish antics of Imam Yasin Abu Bakr. There are dangerous muslims in the world believe me as a a Shiite muslim given the track record of groups like Al-Qaeda I should be more afraid as my people are in more danger. Such is the political environment that we live in. I believe instead of living in a culture of fear and blaming each other the best way is dialogue and mutual discussion. Only then can we be reassured.
I say very very small from experience living in Pakistan, visiting Saudi Arabia, peforming the Hajj (where there were 4 million people from a cross section of Islamic world), visiting Iran and having numerable friends from the Gulf.
I could argue there are numerable cases of Islamophobic violence (https://www.islamophobia-watch.com/). But whats the point? I would never blow it out of proportion like the media does and blame "christians" or "jews" or any other racial or religious group it is absolutely absurd.

Why can these people leave others to enjoy the religion they chose? Why they must now live in fear just because they are Christians? Why can't these threats be taken seriously?

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Christians in a Pakistani town beset by pro-Taliban militants sought government protection Wednesday, the eve of a deadline for them to convert to Islam or face violence. About 500 Pakistani Christians in Charsadda, a town in the North West Frontier Province bordering Afghanistan, received letters earlier this month telling them to close their churches and convert by Thursday or be the target of "bomb explosions." Several Christians, a tiny minority in the predominantly Muslim country, have fled town and others are living in fear, community leaders said. Some complained that police were not taking the threat seriously. "Police say someone is joking with us by writing these letters," Chaudhry Salim, a Charsadda Christian leader, said during a news conference in Islamabad. "They have deployed only two policemen at our churches ... this is the kind of security we are getting now." Shahbaz Bhatti, a prominent Christian leader and head of the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance, said the provincial government, which is controlled by a coalition of pro-Taliban religious parties, would bear blame for attacks after the deadline.... |
Pakistan is one messed up country. I know this because I lived there. These extremist freaks who are a tiny minority in Pakistan do this sort of thing all the time. Trust me muslims are no more safer than christians there.
My father was threatened by one of these groups as well simply because he is a shiite. Bombs regularly go off in shiite and barelvi mosques. Yet I wonder why the media chooses to ignore these and concentrate on threatening letters sent to christian churches?

Rather off topic, but... You may want to comment about the video of the girl murdered in Iraq: https://www.bordeglobal.com/foruminv/index....&st=936&hl=iraq |

Just because some Media may not expose all the news as they see it fit, does not change the fact that Christians Churches are also the target (which IS the topic of this thread) so I am not sure of your point. |

Convert To Islam Or Die! |
The title of the thread is called "Convert to Islam or Die!" and I provided the article that states such a thing concerning Christian Churches on my first post.
QUOTE |
Now why doesn't the media mention the fact that other muslims are in more danger in Pakistan? Instead they make it out that Christians are the ony ones threatened and hence Islam has an agenda towards converting Christians by force which is the topic of your thread! |
From observance I do agree that Muslims, the genuine ones who are just looking to carry out their lives in peace are also targets of Islamist groups. However, because the word that is used here is "Convert" this denotes that it is someone who is NOT Muslim, thus the Topic is about being forced to accept a religious concept if you are not Muslim. However, I think it is really... "Convert or our political way of thinking or die!" because even when you do become a Muslim there is a strong possibility that you can be persecuted still.

I do not think you understand. I am not speaking about Muslims being at danger in Pakistan. My initial article is about Christians being in danger in Pakistan by Muslims. |
QUOTE |
Do you think Christians are the MAIN target of Islamists? |
