SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Despite death, war, and calamity that haunt some even during the Christmas season, Jesus Christ offers the hope of salvation to all. "He left his mark upon the world, which can never be erased nor diminished," said President Gordon B. Hinckley during the annual First Presidency Christmas devotional Sunday night. "Our eternal lives are in His hands, and our eternal progress lies in obedience to His teachings."
If everything is routine for you then the need for Christ may not be significant. If you live in a country where life is comfortable and you are safe and secure then their may not be a thought about spirituality at all as the focus may become materialistic. However, if everyday is an extreme hardship and you find yourself almost overcome by the negativity of the world then you may find yourself wondering who to turn to.

"Our Father in Heaven wants each of us to enjoy peace and happiness in mortal life. Our Master, Jesus Christ, and His prophets have taught how to have that peace and happiness, even in a world that is ever more challenging, with increasing conflict and an intense concentration of alluring temptations."
