Joseph's Bones
Based on this:
'19 And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you."
Why was it necessary for Moses to take Joseph's bones with him?

Moses was just fulfilling a simple request?

But since each Bible is different, I checked my copy of the Torah. It reads quite a bit different and also ( to me ) makes the story clearer.

If I had walked in Joseph's shoes, I would have wanted ( even in death ) to go along when my people left Egypt.
