Which one do you think is better if space is lacking: Daybed or Couch?

For me I do not like wood much and the inability to remove the cloth off of a couch to give it a proper cleaning makes a daybed ideal. If you want to test what I am saying - look at well used couches and you will see grease stains and 'prints' from food and other yuk stuff. I will not even go into what you can't see like the dozens of insects and bugs crawling through it. With a daybed you get one huge 'couch' while saving a lot of space. You can also decorate it any way you want and get everything cleaned.
