I agree that street racing should be regulated more heavily, however police officers already harass anyone with modifications around here... I drive a Jeep Cherokee with a 5" Body lift, cold air intake, stainless magnaflow exhaust and the police pull me over all the time (Never had a ticket though).. They think because my jeep sits high and its loud with an aftermarket stereo that I drive around recklessly. This is not true, my lift kit actually makes the vehicle more tipsy so I tend to drive under the speed limit unless someone is right behind me, the exhaust was just because I was tired of it rusting so I went for a stainless solution which makes the engine sound cleaner, and the cold air intake was just to avoid overheating due to a higher airflow to my exhaust.
Point being, yes crush the racers but leave us alone if we are just trying to personalize our rides.
Well it doesn't decrease control, but it makes the steering feel less responsive, lots of play in the wheel before you begin turning. I did it because I do go offloading through some trails and I wanted to be able to identify my truck in a parking lot with little effort. Not to mention potholes here are on every road and some can be over 12 inches deep, if you don't have a body lift you could lose a strut, and we get snow 6 months of the year.
