I am a very committed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a senior citizen in chronological age only. I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, and served a mission to Austria, where I met my husband, who was also a missionary. I have a Masters Degree in Education, but have taught very little, due to raising children and owning a bakery. My husband and I have lived in Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, and are now in Michigan. We have seven children between the ages of 28 and 40 (one deceased), and sixteen grandchildren (and counting).
I do not engage in chat rooms because they seem to foster a lot of crazy ideas and are, in my opinion, mostly a waste of time. This site seems a cut above the rest.
My interests include: music (piano and vocal), natural approaches to health concerns, reading (especially biographies and World War II histories), investigating topics on the Internet, and visiting my children and their families.
My favorite LDS author is Hugh Nibley, followed by various other BYU scholars, such as Andrew Skinner and Robert Millet. My favorite website is ldsmag.com (Meridian Magazine). I am a very curious person, but I do not dabble in the writings of those who are anti-Mormon.
I am looking forward to being part of this forum.
