Trinidad Dress Standards For Teachers - Page 3

Honestly, it would be nice to see teachers dress formerly with shirt jack and pants for men and blouse with skirt for women. They expect uniform from the students so maybe the teachers could have their own too.

Shirt jack?! Who wears shirt jacks these days. Our male teachers wear shirts and ties. With pants of course. Polos could be an option for the less formal days.

It's interesting to see the general public put guidelines on public educators. What other profession gets so discredited by the general populous?

The vast majority of teachers dress in a professional manner.

On those short documetaries by the Ministry of Education showing Manning touring different schools - that one guy with glasses who always talks to kids - he wears a shirt jack.

The PNM's Franklin Khan was yesterday (TV6 News) repeating a call again for a standardized dress for teachers. Will that mean uniforms for teachers?

Title: Teachers dress code

Comments: In as much as I agree with the idea that teachers should have a dress code, I don't believe this will ever happen here or in many other countries. Dress codes in many professions have gone to dogs. This has something to do with the expectation and rulings of the human rights organisation. Trying to impose such codes are going to be most difficult in modern times. One only has to look at the protection given by the human right organisation to criminals to see the gradual decay of areas of world- wide legal systems. One only has to protest that their human rights are under attacked, and support comes pouring out of the human rights set up without much thought or foresight.
