I have 11 regional titles, and 1-one National championship.
I have been in several magazines, ie; radio controlled car action, and r/c driver
These cars at a national level can be expensive, as much as $3000 USD race ready. There are entry level cars that will get you into the sport for under 500$
Wow, you really are big in this. What makes these puppies cost so much? Are they fueled by electric or gas power?
Do you race just for fun or is it also an income for you like prize money for winning, teaching others how to race, building scaled cars, etc.?
The cost is mainly in electronics, but with the cars being made of carbonfiber, and magnisium parts that add up to big money.
I race electric. Which is a handwound electric motor (built to track specs.) and use 4200Nimh sub 'C' cells (4).
I race for fun, I dont supplement my income by racing, and alot of my expesies are covered by sponsors.
Wow, it sounds like real fun! I am just a college student so have no major finances as of now. How can I start? And what all areas do I need to be familiar with to start this?
Right now, I'm doing a B.E course in I.T . So, what all do I have study in order to understand more about the sport?
