People, I am disgusted about the state of affairs of this country. This woman was going to work at 9:00am in a government building. She was snatched and raped. I do not have words to describe the level of insecurity we live in this country. Of course, the criminal is somewhere out there, ready to attack the next victim.

The incident happened on Tuesday around 9 a.m.
Workers at the Government office have complained about a lack of security at the building.
Counselling for the victim and staff members has been arranged, authorities said, adding that the Port of Spain City Corporation will be asked to demolish the abandoned house.
Following a staff meeting at the office, it was decided that a shuttle bus will transport workers from City Gate to the office from Monday.

Most government buildings have some sort of security, even if not uniformed, so I have to wonder if this was not a planned affair from someone within the compound / department. However, it is also a reason I generally do not like my wife going out in Trinidad, more especially because she 'stands out' among the people here.

They mentioned that people in the building have been complaining about the lack of security for years. It seems like that abandoned building where they raped this lady has been a concern for a long time, again nobody cared.
