
Yeah I have to agree with you guys. It is more prudent to be sober for the sake of making better decisions and having complete control over your life. But bear in mind, when you are in a position like Paula who is struggling to make a comeback, I suppose any publicity (negative or positive) keeps the individual in the spotlight. I believe that she enjoys the limelight and by taking time off, Paula is fearful that the world may "forget" about her. You have to remember, she recently released an album (I think it was late last year or earlier this year, I can't remember) with the assistance of Randy Jackson. So I suspect she hopes the publicity will keep her in the spotlight and maybe increase sales for her album!

I really admire the talent of Paula Abdul, but I think she needs to say a lot less as far as judging. I appreciate that she tries to be positive for each performer, but sometimes she adds too many words on American Idol.
