Yeah I have to agree with you guys. It is more prudent to be sober for the sake of making better decisions and having complete control over your life. But bear in mind, when you are in a position like Paula who is struggling to make a comeback, I suppose any publicity (negative or positive) keeps the individual in the spotlight. I believe that she enjoys the limelight and by taking time off, Paula is fearful that the world may "forget" about her. You have to remember, she recently released an album (I think it was late last year or earlier this year, I can't remember) with the assistance of Randy Jackson. So I suspect she hopes the publicity will keep her in the spotlight and maybe increase sales for her album!

A couple of episodes ago, she was sweating a lot and looking like she was either drunk or high. She is usually very sweet while she speaks, by that night she was talking absolutely non-sense, just like a drunk person.

I am surprised she does not even admit to use any sort of prescribed drugs because she clearly looks intoxicated in several shows but she says she was "sleepy". Who would believe that?

Those who really have a problem can not help themselves until the face the fact that they do have a problem. She is clearing in the state of denial and we will see a high or drunk Paula on a few more shows.

She just kicked the habit this past November? I am not sure if she is totally off them. Her actions on American Idol makes me believe that she may still be taking something. While she is more alert this year she is still on something in my opinion.

I really admire the talent of Paula Abdul, but I think she needs to say a lot less as far as judging. I appreciate that she tries to be positive for each performer, but sometimes she adds too many words on American Idol.
