And since it is still early and there are but few verses I will read the 35 book of the Quran, Fatir.
I have long thought that when the very first verse of a book starts with great praise of Allah the whole book will be almost a carbon copy of all the other books except Yusuf-Book 12.

Quran-Fatir 35:1 Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things. |

I have been to my eye doctor again. My eyes are fading fast with cataracts. I will do my best to finish the Quran before I go for surgery, but if I fail I will return to this project after surgery. If I don't return you will know it is because I cannot see.

Thank you Vincenzo. At this point (so far) the Quran is all sweetness, light, and worship of Allah, but I'm still guessing I will find the violence I believe must be there. It's either in the Quran, or a hand full of Muslims are reading a lot more into the book than is written there. Which ever way it goes there will be a full report at the end.

QUOTE |
All religious quotes are from the Quran 47:3 This because those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the Truth from their Lord: Thus does Allah set forth for men their lessons by similitudes. |
QUOTE |
Random House Dictionary Sim-I-lar = alike in a general way but not exactly sim-I-le = a figure of speech in which two unlike things are explicitly compared, as in "she is like a rose" si-mil-I-tude = comparative resemblance |
QUOTE |
47:4 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost. 47:5 Soon will He guide them and improve their condition, 47:6 And admit them to the Garden which He has announced for them. |
After nine pages of reporting it seems like you have made a breakthrough. I believe I read somewhere that these verses coincide with times when they had to defend themselves in war (like the permission), so I believe you will start to see more of these verses.
