Reading The Quran - Page 10

From your earlier readings, I got the feeling that the Jews, Christians and Muslims all pray to the same God. Some got it right and others got it wrong... Are the Unbelievers the ones that got it wrong or are they anyone that is not Muslim? I know it sounds basic, but I am wondering where exactly was the jump off for the Unbelievers.

Quran Reading

JB, I was told at the beginning of this thread that the Quran is a book of peace. I doubted that, but as I read book after book I began to hope it was. Now those hopes have been obliterated and I am back to being very sure of what I will find.
I thought it in the beginning, now I will say it. Since God and Allah are one and the same, I have no doubt there will be many more orders for bloodshed.

Vincenzo, I'm only guessing, but I would say that some Jews listened and some didn't. I'm also not really sure who the "WE" is that sent prophets to the unbelievers time after time. The only thing I know for sure is the terrorist today believe unbelievers are infidels and all infidels have to die. I'm not even trying to understand the Quran. I'm just looking for the violence I was sure must be there, so I will know for sure if the Quran orders violence, or if the violence is the result of Islamic extremist. I found the answer today, but I'm going to keep reading and reporting my finds to the very end.

On September 18, 2007 I read the book of Fath the 48 book of the Quran.
I found one interesting verse.

QUOTE
Quran
48:16 Say to the desert Arabs who lagged behind: "Ye shall be summoned (to fight) against a people given to vehement war: then shall ye fight, or they shall submit. Then if ye show obedience, Allah will grant you a goodly reward, but if ye turn back as ye did before, He will punish you with a grievous Penalty."

I have no idea what time frame this passage is meant to cover, but if I were a Desert Arab I would be trying to trade my camel for a ticket out of there.

In fact I found not nearly the violence in the Quran that I suspected was there. I have compiled several verses and facts as I read and I will come back to this thread with my thoughts in a day, or two.
