Aikorei Introduction

Hi. Just introducing myself (as agreed). I really just joined this forum because I'm interested to see what it's all about. I love the doctrines of the LDS church, and I'm interested to see what I find out here.

Welcome LDS Member

Thanks for posting your introduction message, this forum allows you to interact positively with many people on varying topics such as LDS Church news, Doctrine, the Book of Mormon, etc. However, do keep in mind that LDS Related Discussion is kept only in the LDS Related Boards as this is an International Community.

Be sure to read: The Art of Discussion.

The next thing you should do now is update your profile. You can do this by clicking the link called, 'My Controls' in the top menu. You may wish to venture over to the LDS Deep Doctrine board or the News & RM Section and have a look around.

If you like LDS Based Games then you may also be interested in playing: Nephi RPG where you can 'Journey to the Promised Land' and see if you really know a lot about the Book of Mormon.

Here are some quick links for you to look over when you have time:

Hi, welcome. Hope you have a great time in our community. I notice you speak Guarani, have you served your mission in Paraguay? How do you like Terere? Looking forward to your posts. smile.gif

I did actually serve my mission in Paraguay, and I think terere tastes like weeds. wink.gif It's supposed to be an 'acquired taste', but I guess I never acquired it.

I never liked it either! I can drink some "mate" if sugar is added. My grandmother is from Formosa, Argentina and she is also fluent in Guarani (my grandfather was Paraguayan) and even though I heard it while growing up, I never learned it, I always thought it was very hard. Is it true that it is so hot there? I always heard there are also plenty snakes.

Yeah, it's extremely hot. It's typically 110 degrees or so with 90%+ humidity. We just got used to being wet all of the time, as gross as that is. But the language is beautiful, and I wish there were more people around here that spoke it. Instead I have to settle for speaking Spanish (which I also love). cool.gif

Ahayhueterei ningo la Guarani . che Paraguay! (I really lov Guarani and my Paraguay!)

Interesting. In Argentina we use the quechua word "che" (that means "people") for "you" or "dude". Since you speak Spanish, feel free to reply to our many topics in Spanish as well (we have a LDS section there as well)
