SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - A recent Brigham Young University study shows how couples from Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and other religious traditions draw on their beliefs to stay faithful to each other. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has long taught that focusing on religion- centered principles contributes to positive and enduring relationships between marriage partners and between parents and their children.
Interesting study. In the case of the Church, I think we give a lot of emphasis to our Temple covenants that of course includes fidelity and it helps couples to maintain focus and try to abide by these covenants in a world full of temptations all around us.
I recently started dating another woman fromthe Philippines, and I've noticed as we discuss the Book of Mormon, share our testimony of the Gospel and other things centered in Christ our relationship seems to be better. When we get off that we start to lose faith not only in each other but in Christ and then our relationship starts to fail. I'm not surprised with the results of the test.
