Everyone seems to be crazy over Nike or Reebok sneakers - are you? What is the big deal to pay so much money? Are they really that much better than the others? What name brand do you wear?
I wear name brand, but not necessarily Nike or Rebok. My current sneakers are New Balance. I find it does make a difference. I don't think it matters which brand, but I wouldn't go cheap. They aren't built as well. We spend a lot of time in our sneakers not like in the 50's and 60's when people only wore them occasionally and wore shoes the rest of the time. Many children only wear sneakers. Parents often wouldn't buy their kids cheap shoes, why cheap sneakers?
My son once was bought a pair of inexpensive sneakers when he was younger. Not cheap, but about $20 less than I usually spent. These sneakers only lasted half the time. I think the saying true..."You get what you pay for."
ain't that the truth.
I used to wear Reebok up til about 7-8 years ago when my feet managed to develop some allergic reaction to them. or at least, that's what the doctor told me. i mean, what are the odds??? plus i liked them better than Nike, more comfortable. but now i do wear Nike, but i will alwayz be loyal to Reebok.
I will only buy Nike or Reeboks if they are on sale. Recently I bought a pair of Sketchers that were on clearance and I have to admit they are very comfortable. My last pair before that were FILA's but they were not that great.
I think Etonic is still available here, JB, and I bet I could find you a good deal
As I .. ahem.. mature... I'm much more conscious of how comfortable my feet are. It's been a long time since I purchased a cheap pair of just "sneakers" -- I now buy shoes especially made for walking or cross training, and make sure to get a good fit. Brand is not an issue, but I make sure I'm getting a sale or clearance price! I'm not paying $100 for a pair of shoes!
Also, I make sure my daughter has good shoes. She is so active, and at school they really tear up the shoes for some reason. Again, though, I make sure I get a good price, partly because she's growing so fast at this age she grows out of them before she wears them out.

I would say that 85% of my life has been in as you say sneeker better known to RAMBO as a running shoe in my life i guess i have had a wide choice of shoe to wear and have gone with brand name and payed for it big time last pair of brand name i bought cost me 189.95cdn then tax on top that was 3-1/2 years ago since then i have droped a lot i buy wall-mart specials cheepest pair i ever put on my feet cost me a big 5.00cdn + tax the only real difference in the shoe that i found was how long the shoe lasted maybe im not picky like some people are either that or as i get older im getting cheep
I am an Adidas fan. I had reebok and nike, puma and lotto in the past, but in the last 5 years I bought only Adidas. The others are also really comfortable (I haven't sensed much difference) ... the only thing why I stick to Adidas is because I like more their design.
