Here is an interesting twist on a basic beverage. I just would love to talk for about 20 minutes with the first person that gave this a try!

Now, I must admit that at $10 per cup, I am very jealous of the profit margin. However, knowing what this is, would you still want to put this in your mouth? Better yet, would you really pay $10 per cup to do it... Edited: Vincenzo on 9th Jan, 2007 - 7:39pm
What I would really like to know, is who discovered this... and how?
It's not exactly the sort of thing that you would wake up one day and decide to give it a go.
As for charging $10 a cup for it, they would have to pay me.. and it would have to be a heck of a lot more than that to try something that disgusting!
I have always loved the smell of freshly brewed coffee, but never picked up the taste for it. On the few occassions that I have adjusted (dumping loads of sugar and adding milk) coffee to the way I could drink it, I am sure it was more like candied milk than coffee for most. While I do like the smell of coffee, it really doesn't take $10 per cup stuff to satisfy that criteria! There is no way I would pay $10 for a cup of coffee.
The thing I like about this story is that as a engineer I am sure that we could duplicate the effect of bean being in a animals digestive tract, but that wouldn't be acceptable to the lovers of this particular blend. The other thing that gets me is that there was obviously at least one person that runs around looking at animal droppings and thinking that stuff they find in it might make a nice beverage.
It would destroy me to find out that this was how Mt Dew was made!
Ok I love coffee but if my cat ate my beans there is no way I would sift through its fecal matter to recover them! Recall Cheech and Chong any one?
I do admit the person who came up with this and was able to sell it I say go for it and well done!
