ANGRY CROWD KILLS PASSENGER IN CAR THAT STRUCK CHILD

Police on Wednesday were pleading for witnesses to help them track down members of an angry mob that beat a man to death after the car he was riding in apparently struck and injured a child.

This is such a terrible case. First of all, the title of the thread is mistaken. The child did not died, he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The guy that this mob murdered was a passenger on that car, that when he saw it has hit a kid, got off of the car to see about the baby. Sad.

What is also being tip-toed around is that this incident as well as at least one other were near Juneteenth celebrations that may have gotten a bit out of hand.

Juneteenth is the celebration of the date that Gen. Granger announced to the slaves that they had been freed with the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Unfortunately, the celebration has been noted with violence in several large cities in the US over the last few years.

As you can see, there is great care being taken to distance the celebration from the death of this man and the beating of another in a different city.

I am not trying to open a can of worms here but I don't understand how they can say there is no connection between the celebrations and these violent acts. The mob that murdered the Hispanic man was a group of African-American men. I am pretty sure the rest of the incidents also involve black people for the simple fact that the celebrations are related to their race. I just cannot comprehend how can people be so violent as to murder someone in such brutal manner and the victim was not even involved!

I wouldn't say that the celebration caused the killing, but did it put the large group of people in a mood or state that might have contributed to the decisions made in that parking lot? I would have to say yes to that...

What kind of "celebration" is that then? It's supposed to be about celebrating the end of slavery...so it turns violent and they kill or injure people? I am biting my tongue as not to make a statement I may regret but I just do not understand how is possible. If these crows are large as they say, I want to assume a STRONG police presence should be there!

Now you see the catch 22 that the city governments are in. You really don't want to say that a group of minorities gathering together automatically requires police supervision, because that implies that they are unable to control themselves. Just reinforces how a few bad apples can ruin it for all the rest...

Political Correctness is ridiculous in the US. These crimes as many others could be avoided if wasn't so beyond "normalcy". Any gathering of a certain amount of people, no matter the race should have a strong police presence because you never know when things can get out f hand by few who usually ruin these events.
