Is Cain Bigfoot? - Page 9

I think in summary;

It is not official doctrine, nor doctrine any other general authority has ever really suggested as true.

The account is only by David Patten and says a creature claimed to be Caine.

Either it was Caine or a counterfeit is up for debate.

Also, the historian that recorded it was mentioned as being unreliable. This whole question could be based on an event that didn't happen.

After that, it's really up to the individual to formulate their opinions and pray for confirmation. God Bless.

I thought that was cleared up. He is no more or less reliable than anyone else.

Comments: We were just discussing this last night over a family game of Settlers (we call the robber Cain. Nerd humor.) I think Hyperwrx's original question is a valid one, and presents what I think could be a possible explanation: [quote] We know Cain Worshiped Satan more than God and thus it makes sense his job now would be the demise of humanity, much like the 1/3 hosts of heaven that were cast down from the preexistence. My question is HOW does Cain go about this task? [quote] My theory is that Cain is dead (as he did nothing to earn a translated body or eternal life) and wanders the earth as a spirit. He probably couldn't have much persuasive influence in his body as described by Patten, so I'm guessing he's rejoined the legions of other spirits that share his same mission.

international QUOTE
A "gist" of these attributions, comes to the mark being a curse to point Cain out very pointedly, and is to foretell something pertaining to the plan of salvation. Getting the mark had something to do with personal restraint.

But it does not say that the mark is the curse. It is not there to point Cain out in a condemning way, like a scarlet letter. I also do not see how it is a mark of personal restrain on Cains' part. Rather it is a mark of protection for Cain. He is cast out of Gods' presence, but he is still under God's protection. The word for mark (heb ot) is used in exod 12;13. The mark parallels the same function as exod. 12:13, Josh 2: 12 (Hamilton, 235) Thus it is a mark that identifies Cain as being protected by God. Cain's punishment has to do with the soil and being a fugitive. This is a curse to become a wonderer, to loose all identity and community (Hamilton, 232) Cain once a farmer is now a vagabond with no community or identity, he is rootlesss, which is a big problem in ancient times.

Yes, I do believe that Cain is bigfoot. here is proof:

international QUOTE
Spencer W. Kimball,The Miracle of Forgiveness, pg 128-128

"As I was riding along the road on my mule I suddenly noticed a very strange personage walking beside me. . . . his head was about even with my shoulders as I sat in my saddle. He wore no clothing, but was covered with hair. his skin was very dark. I asked him wheere he dwelt and he replied that he had no home, that he was a wanderer in the earth and traveled to and fro. he said he was a very miserable creature, that he had earnestly south death during his nsojourn upon the earth, but that he could not die, and his mission was to destroy the souls of men. About the time he expressed himself thus, I rebuked him in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the name of the Holy priesthood, and commanded him to go hence, and he immediately departed out of my sight. . ."

Comments: You may have a quote, which is a quote from another source who said he saw that, BUT it is not a doctrinal fact and shouldn't be taken like that. There has been no official statement by the church on Cain or Bigfoot being seen or the same person.

Comments: The fact that we have not read it, or heard it from a GA, doesn't mean that it couldn't be true, right?
Could it be that this is part of the "Meat"? You know, . . . Drink milk before eating meat, walk before running. Meaning that maybe those who really truly want to know, and can handle it are those who know? Maybe that is why it is not taught openly? Because it may affect those who are not really at a point where they can "digest" this "meat"? . . . I would suppose that there are many things that are not taught openly, but that doesn't make them any less true, I think. I couldn't give you examples 'cause I'm still drinking milk, no teeth here yet. Just sharing the idea.

Milk, bro maybe isnt even that. Maybe the GA just like us don't have an answer for that. Simple as that.
