I was just watching Mike Reeves on Ripley's Believe It or Not break through 300 boards in stacks of five faster than a chainsaw trying to go through the same amount! The guy is amazing!

It just goes to show that the power of the mind can overcome many physical obstacles. We were just discussing the topic of board breaking in my own martial arts school the other day. For starters the boards are typically layed out in such a way that they will split along the grain lines. Also, when stacked, once the top board has enough force applied to it that it will break that force is then directed to the board below it. That being said it takes little more force to break 5 or 10 boards as it does to break one. Surely you think at this point I do not believe that Sansei Reeves has little power and his display is no more than a parlor trick. Quite on the contrary, I believe that he has power beyond measure. I simple wanted to give some information on just what it takes to break boards. It is in fact the power known as 'mind over matter'. One's mind will tend to tell you that if you put your fist through that board it will hurt, therefore untrained or unfocussed people will stop their strike at the surface of the board allowing the power of the board to impact their hand and in turn really hurting, if not breaking the hand. When actually a trained mind can allow the physical body to put a hand or foot through boards, bricks, walls, etc. The simple fundamental belief is that 'I can!"

We all can!
