I am not surprised by this study (as a matter of fact, sometimes I wonder if people need a Phd for this kind of studies since it seems like common sense to me). Just like trying drugs for first time, it can surely make you hooked to it quickly.

I can also believe this to be true.
It's never a case of you in control of the cigarettes, but rather that the cigarettes have the hold of you. How often do we hear of people saying they can quite easily give up smoking when they wish to, only to find that when they really wish to give up, they either cannot, or they have a heck of a struggle doing so.
