Vodolaz Introduction

Hello, my current goal is to find a group of people to play self-designed text-based RPGs. Being a great fan of the PC game Fallout series, I would love to set up a game that would take place in a universe where humanity has faced the devastation of a full-blown nuclear conflict and the main characters find themselves struggling for survival amidst the rubble of a dying civilization. I prefer simplified game mechanics and more emphasis on story telling and the creation of an environment that builds character and carries a certain feeling with it. But first I'll see what the members of this community have to offer and do look forward to learning as much as possible from the people involved in the projects I am about to see for myself.

We have three types of RPGs here, which one are you interested in:

2. Integrated RPGs: This is where the RPGs are part of the Community. Games like Plugged, Cozyville and others considers what you do in the Community and thus it affects game play. To see a list of these check the RPG Stuff Page.

3. Writer's Paradise: For for those who prefer well thought out storylines where the players are more mature then keep reading below:

We seem to be getting a lot of Canadian based RPGers of recent. Which one of our RPGs are you interested in participating in?

I'd like to check out Future Earth. First I'd have to get past the 30 Constructive posts hurdle, that might take a bit of time seeing as I like to take a moment to actually think about things and do some research of my own. I'm going to see how this coming week will play out in terms of available time, but I think I'll get my wings so to speak when it comes to braving the initial onslaught of information in this forum. It really seems very chaotic to a newcomer but I'm all in favour for wealth of this kind.

But here's a question from me to you

Would I be able to use these forums to set up my own game, where I would be the story teller and use the programs that allow you to toss dice and spit out random number at you?

Future Earth has not been active for a long time, it seems people look more for a Medieval scenario than Science Fiction, but if you still want to tackle something in the mean time may I suggest Plugged RPG which is based on the Matrix and / or https://www.textrpg.com/futureterra a new RPG I just created.

In the Member Wars section we have Sticky Threads that can do this. I also like to encourage GMs who wish to start their own RPGs and will give you any help you need providing that you are serious. I cannot tell you the number of times I have received requests for this or that and when I do it there is no follow-up on the part of the person requesting.
